Job SummaryThe Marsal Family School of Education at the University of Michigan seeks a colleague for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of associate professor or (early) full professor in Educational Studies (ES). We seek a scholar who focuses on Civic Education, Reasoning, and/or Dialogue, and whose work builds on or intersects with the fields of social studies teaching and learning, teacher education, history of education, the learning sciences, philosophy or sociology of education, political science, and/or media literacy.
This position is part of a faculty cluster focused on democracy policy, data, and civic education, with two other faculty hires in the School of Information and the Ford School of Public Policy. Responsibilities*Candidates will be expected to pursue an active research agenda, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise graduate students, direct doctoral dissertations, and serve as an active member of the Educational Studies department, Educator Preparation Program, School of Education, the University, and education professional communities.
