Receiving Clerk
Role Overview

The Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in ASC's supply chain operations by ensuring all incoming materials, parts, and equipment are accurately received, inspected, documented, and processed. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by verifying shipment quantities and quality against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documentation.The Receiving Clerk works closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies, ensure timely material availability, and support uninterrupted production operations. Success in this role is measured through inventory accuracy, receiving efficiency, documentation compliance, and the timely availability of materials needed to support ASC's manufacturing and customer delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
Inspect incoming materials, components, and equipment for damage, defects, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate departments.
Accurately record received materials into inventory management and ERP systems while ensuring inventory accuracy.
Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage, identification, and handling of received goods.
Communicate with suppliers, purchasing personnel, and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, and quality concerns.
Maintain accurate records of all received shipments and supporting documentation.
Prepare and file receiving reports, inspection records, and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
Ensure materials are properly labeled, organized, and available for production or distribution activities.
Operate barcode scanning equipment and inventory tracking systems to support inventory accuracy and traceability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area while adhering to all safety requirements and warehouse best practices.
Assist with material movement and warehouse operations as needed to support business objectives.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient material flow throughout the organization.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and receiving process improvements.
Ensure all receiving activities support ASC’s commitments to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or materials handling role preferred.
Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management databases and software systems.
Experience with ERP systems and inventory control processes preferred.
Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and electronic inventory transactions preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and material handling procedures preferred.
Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to regularly lift, move, and transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout warehouse and production areas for extended periods.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and warehouse tools, if trained and authorized.
Ability to work in both warehouse and manufacturing environments.
Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors when receiving deliveries.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving receiving, scanning, sorting, and documenting materials.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
