KBRs Exploration & Logistics (E&L) business unit delivers mission-critical solutions supporting global defense, federal civilian, logistics, engineering, and space exploration missions. E&L provides integrated capabilities across logistics and sustainment, mission operations, engineering services, readiness and modernization programs, scientific research support, and exploration initiatives in some of the worlds most complex and challenging environments.

The business unit supports customers across the Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, and commercial partners, delivering innovative solutions that enhance mission readiness, operational effectiveness, and long-term mission success.

Job Summary

The Task Lead provides overall leadership and management for task operations and sustainment activities in support of ILS2 Task Order execution. This role is responsible for ensuring continuous system performance, operational readiness, and effective lifecycle sustainment of facilities, infrastructure, and mission systems supporting operational requirements across fixed and expeditionary environments.

Serving as the primary authority for task execution, the Task Lead oversees maintenance programs, coordinates multidisciplinary sustainment activities, manages personnel and resources, and ensures compliance with performance standards and contractual requirements. Working closely with logistics, operational, and support organizations, the Task Lead ensures seamless integration of sustainment efforts and drives continuous improvement initiatives that support mission readiness, system reliability, and long-term operational effectiveness.

This position is contingent upon award of the contract.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of task operations and sustainment activities in support of ILS2 Task Order requirements.
  • Serve as the primary authority for task execution, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, operational requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee maintenance programs and lifecycle sustainment activities supporting facilities, infrastructure, equipment, and mission systems.
  • Manage task resources, personnel, priorities, and workloads to ensure effective execution and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary sustainment activities across operational, maintenance, logistics, and support functions.
  • Monitor system performance, operational metrics, and readiness indicators to ensure availability and reliability of supported capabilities.
  • Collaborate with other task leaders to support transition activities and ensure continuity from implementation through sustained operations.
  • Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, maintenance, and support organizations to maintain system availability and mission effectiveness.
  • Identify operational risks, performance challenges, and resource constraints and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, sustainment effectiveness, and system performance.
  • Provide leadership updates, operational reports, performance assessments, and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. In some disciplines, advanced degree may be a requirement to reach this level. May hold a Professional Certification in Program Management. Typically requires 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within the program.
  • Top Secret/ SCI (eligible)
  • Experience leading operations, sustainment, maintenance, facilities management, logistics, or mission support activities in a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing personnel, resources, budgets, schedules, and operational priorities.
  • Knowledge of sustainment operations, lifecycle management, maintenance programs, operational readiness, and performance management principles.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple functional teams and stakeholder organizations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience developing operational reports, performance metrics, and executive-level briefings.
  • Ability to manage mission-critical operations in dynamic and geographically dispersed environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, federal government, logistics, sustainment, infrastructure, facilities, or operational support programs.
  • Experience leading large-scale maintenance, sustainment, or mission-support operations.
  • Knowledge of asset management, facilities management, operational readiness assessments, and performance improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting fixed-site, remote, expeditionary, or contingency operations.
  • Familiarity with Government contracting environments and task order execution.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or similar leadership and operations credentials.
  • Prior military service or military logistics, sustainment, or operations management experience.

For Hawaii Applicants: The expected salary range for this position in Hawaii is $144,700 - $175,800 (update as required). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, work location, and other job-related factors. This range is provided in accordance with Hawaii pay transparency requirements and applies to candidates working in Hawaii.
