THE POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID (50% REMOTE ALLOWABLE) WORK SCHEDULE.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage and support computing, networking, instructional, and research technology for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department within the College of Engineering. Maintain Linux servers, workstations, research clusers, laboratories, embedded systems, FPGA platforms, engineering software, and related equipment.

Approximately 80% of the position's time supports the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. The remaining 20% support the College of Engineering computing needs as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer and maintain Linux servers, workstations, research clusters, teaching laboratories, embedded systems, FPGA platforms, printers, and related devices.

Install, configure, upgrade, secure, monitor, document, and troubleshoot software, operating systems, databases, and network services. Provide preventive maintenance for safety and continued operation of hardware/software systems.

Perform backups, recovery, patching, preventive maintenance, and lifecycle management to ensure reliable and secure operations.Support faculty, staff, and students with research computing, instructional technology, engineering software, laboratory systems, FPGA development, and embedded systems.

Evaluate and improve computing systems to meet changing teaching, research, cybersecurity, and operational needs.

Provide technical guidance, training, documentation, and remote-access support.

Coordinate work with university personnel, vendors, consultants, and contractors.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support College of Engineering computing systems, laboratories, instructional clusters, servers, workstations, and related technology as assigned.

Assist with college-wide upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting, documentation, infrastructure projects, and integration with university systems.

Provide backup technical support to other college units as needed.

Maintain equipment, software, warranty, and supply inventories.

Assist with technology planning, purchasing, deployment, replacement, and lifecycle scheduling.

Perform additional duties as required.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Linux operating systems; physical and virtual servers; computers, research clusters; FPGAs; embedded systems; laboratory equipment; databases; backup, monitoring, scripting, programming, and engineering software.
