Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s premier pre-K through 12th grade private schools, dedicated to providing a career-focused cost-free education and housing to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. MHS is seeking a Developmental 5th & 6th Grade Assistant Swim Coach for a one-year ancillary position at Middle School. In partnership with the head coach, the assistant coach will support student-athletes’ skill development, athletic growth, and character development, helping them succeed both in their sport and in life. Practices are held between November and March two days per week (flexible) from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The stipend amount is based on experience and working the entire season.  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• At least 1 year of successful coaching experience, while also instilling high-quality character.

• Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.

• Ability to teach beginning and advanced skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth.  Experience working with lower income students preferred.

• Ability to interact with student athletes at different skill levels in a positive and professional manner.

• Strong communication skills (verbal & written) are required.

• Demonstrated exceptional organizational and planning skills.

   

• Candidates must demonstrate high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
