I am a fatherless widow with a son, 20 years of age. He currently attends Virginia Union University. My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer when I was 9 months pregnant with our first and only child. Several people asked me how I endured taking care of my husband and son, simultaneously, for 3 years. I put my feelings in a poem, entitled "WOMEN", and received a copyright on it in 2001. My Paralegal Certificate, Graduate Certificate and MS Human Services, Criminal Justice were all acquired subsequent to widowhood.
My Interview Question
Why are there such low high school graduation rates among Black males?
Current Whereabouts:
Parent Volunteer with 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Triangle East Chapter; and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity's Mentoring Program AALOT(African American Leaders of Tomorrow)

Claim To Fame:
I have a copyright on a poem I created entitled "WOMEN". It is printed on T-shirts and Sweatshirts and in the past had been printed on cotton, canvas tote bags. I pray that one day I'll be able to have them sold in Christian Book Stores.
