Born July 24, 1989 to Barbara Ross and Dr. Robert Palmer in Columbus, Mississippi. Brittany was raised in the small city of Ellenwood, Ga south of the capital city of, Atlanta, Ga. She knew as a little girl that she always wanted to accomplish her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Once graduating from Stockbridge High school, she attended Tuskegee University in Fall of 2007 to seek a bachelors degree of Animal and poultry science. While attending Tuskegee University she stayed active within the school and community, by becoming a member of the track and cross country team, Student Ambassador, pre-vet club, pre-vet scholars, MANRRS, and Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Org. Throughout her years at Tuskegee University she also conducted food behavioral research under Dr. Nar Gurung and Dr. Ayman Sayegh as well as summer research for animal behavior at Indiana University. Upon graduating Spring 2011, she received acceptance into the veterinary class of 2015. As a student within vet school, Brittany is still active within school as the current SCAVMA Vice President, Alpha Pledge Master of Omega Tau Sigma National Veterinary Fraternity, President of Student Minority Recruitment Team (SMRT), student representative of VCA Animal Hospitals, and National Veterinary Associates (NVA). This past summer Brittany interned under Banfield Pet Hospitals and volunteered under Worlds Vets Org. where she visited Granada, Nicaragua and helped to spay and neuter animals of a third world country and give back to the local community. Currently she is a student of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine with plans of having a successful third year and obtaining a fun fulfilled summer preceptor ship before beginning her final year!

What made you decide to attend a HBCU?
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently into helping others and service but in tpast I participated in many sports, including, track, cross country, basketball, and volleyball. Now and days I spend my time with shcool work, preparing for vet school, working, and volunteering.
