From birth in a small town called Caro, GA to growing up in an urban area in New Jersey, playing sports and focusing on education, scholarship awards and loans gained me a high school degree from a New England prep school, a BA from a private university, an MFA and MA degrees, plus PhD study and research towrds finishing my dissertation and degree. And I am a playwright.
My Interview Question
Compared to other US universities over the last half century how have HBCU's developed their performing arts programs.

Claim To Fame:
My play about jazz legend Billie Holiday was performed June 2008 at the Cherry Lane theatre in the Village, lower Manhattan, the same theatre that first open Baraka's DUTCHMAN in 1959.
Most Memorable Moment:
When teaching at Virginia State University my students collaborated and performed a Paul Robson skit as a tribute to his life achievement.
