Rhythm is sound, Rhythm is movement, and Rhythm is contagious and unavoidable. Rhythm is the pulse of the people. Howard University’s mission of veritas et utilitas – truth and service is the Rhythm that all who have matriculated through her walls are unified. Howard University has proven to the world its trailblazing Rhythm. Her Rhythm is a pulse fueled by knowledge, culture and invaluable life lessons. Her tempo has vibrated the world with writers, artists, intellectuals, doctors, lawyers and politicians, since her creation, in 1867.

Coupled with a legacy of fellowship and pride, the Howard University Homecoming celebration in its 85th year of existence is undoubtedly one of the largest and most profitable collegiate homecoming celebrations in the world. The success of the Howard University Homecoming celebration, year after year, is the likely emanation of the collective efforts of students, alumni, faculty, and members of the community. This year, the Homecoming activities will be held from October 17-24, 2009 and we have already begun laying the foundation for a successful series of events.
