BMORENEWS publisher Donald Morton "Doni" Glover has been publishing Bmorenews since its inception on August 9, 2002. Since then, Bmorenews has covered news throughout the US as well as abroad in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Jordan and Canada. Today, Doni Glover's Bmorenews gets regular visitors from as many as 190 nations to the tune of about 1.2 million hits per month. Of course, a strong percentage of visitors come from the home turf: the DC-Maryland-Virginia region also known as the DMV. And, Bmorenews.com has one of the largest black news video libraries in the country - loaded with original content you won't find anywhere else. Currently, Bmorenews hosts over 2,200 video interviews and news reports. Also, Bmorenews has covered the Obama White House nearly two dozen times. The economic development of black communities is a pillar of Glover’s work. According to him, "There's some $45 billion in annual disposable income between Baltimore and DC in the African American community." He continued, "Add-in Philadelphia, that number increases to some $75 billion. Nationally, that's a trillion dollars. Hence, no black business worth its salt ought be struggling to stay in business. We clearly have the resources. We need to do a better job connecting the dots. And that's where Bmorenews.com steps in. We're a sort of news outlet that is engaged in providing solutions to the ills of the African Diaspora, beginning with Black America." On that note, Glover and his team have produced the Black Wall Street SERIES since 2011. The ongoing business networking events have been featured in New York, the DMV, and Atlanta. More cities are forthcoming. Glover said, “The Black Wall Street SERIES featuring the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards aims to celebrate black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. Further, of the many Bmorenews events, the most prestigious one to date was the Bmorenews Global Forum on Women's Empowerment at the United Nations in New York City on June 15, 2012. Doni also hosts "Empower Hour", a news talk show on Radio One Baltimore's WOLB 1010 AM; the show is now in its 15th year. Glover has been a journalist since 1994. In that time, he has interviewed the well-known and the unknown - with a heavy emphasis on business and politics - what Glover refers to as "black political economy". A native Baltimorean, the soon-to-be-published author has been an advocate for his community - whether it's at Congress, the State House, City Hall or in another country: He'll leave no stone unturned when it comes to speaking up for black people. From the community to the international - Glover strives to bring a powerful sense of Afrocentrism to the world of journalism on all levels. Glover is considered a leading advocate for black issues in Maryland and beyond. According to Glover, his agenda includes five items: *black business, *public education, *ex-offender services, *universal access to health care, and *affordable housing. Also the former editor of the Sandtown-Winchester ViewPoint Newspaper in Historic West Baltimore, he has been featured on a number of radio stations including WOLB 1010 AM, WEAA 88.9 FM, WYPR - FM, WOL 1450 AM, and 92Q FM. Further, his political analysis has been featured in a litany of print publications from Baltimore to Washington, DC – including The Montgomery Gazette, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Baltimore Sun, and The Baltimore Times. His greatest media exposure to date has been on Baltimore’s NBC affiliate, WBAL TV Channel 11, where he has commented on political news and developments for the past 13 years. His analysis has covered Maryland and national news. And, he has moderated and participated in countless mayoral, gubernatorial, and senatorial debates and forums. Beginning in elementary school (Baltimore's Matthew Alexander Henson, #29) with the morning announcements (under the instruction of his 5th and 6th grade teacher, Kermit Vanstover Williams), he first appeared on local radio at the tender age of 15 under the tutelage of former WEAA 88.9 FM host Charlie Dugger. Dugger also exposed Glover to WEBB, the Dorothy Brunson-owned station that was located right in Walbrook Junction. Academically, Glover attended William Hugo Lemmel Jr. High School, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Paul Laurence Dunbar Community High School, Morehouse College, and ultimately earned a Bachelor's of Science degree with honors from Baltimore's Coppin State University in English. The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Scholar's degree is specifically in Media Arts: Broadcast Productions and Technology. Having completed the full graduate course of study, including successful completion of comprehensive examinations in International Affairs at Morgan State University, he is a thesis shy of his graduate degree.
