DeAnna M. McLeary co-founder of True Star Magazine and the True Star Foundation oversees operations for True Star, including acting as publisher. As a publication geared to giving a voice to urban youth, True Star fit within one of Ms. McLeary’s lifetime goals -- educating and empowering urban youth.

Ms. McLeary’s past experiences cross several industries, including: investment banking with JP Morgan Chase, global corporate finance with Arthur Andersen, manufacturing finance with DaimlerChrysler, management consulting with Accenture Ltd, and advertising sales with Essence Communication Partners.

Ms. McLeary often gives back to the community by participating in workshops and seminars, primarily sharing her business knowledge and motivating young people.

Ms. McLeary graduated magna cum laude from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as her Masters of Business Administration degree concentrating in both Marketing and Finance.

In addition, Ms. McLeary is a much sought after speaker for young people. Ms. McLeary has been the keynote speaker for the 2004 Youth Conference, National Black MBA Leaders of Tomorrow conference, and countless other schools and community centers.

Having worked with leading corporate entities and youth programming, Ms. McLeary understands the level of professionalism and communication required for long-term success in each field. Her background and professional approach to both corporate and youth orientated environments undoubtedly serves as a testament to her vision to improve the urban community and change the lives of young people who live within it.
