Location: ATLANTA, GA United States

About   (request update)
I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama where I resided until I graduated from high school in 1987. From there I attended Tuskegee University where I was introduced to a world not known from people living in Montgomery,Al. I was exposed to people of different nationalities but they we shared a common thing, skin color. This place was less than an hour from where I grew up. At TU I was also exposed to the professional workforce. I accepted an internship with the USDA in Washington, D.C. as a sophomore. I interned there for three years an eventually accepted a full time position in Washington. Two years later I was moving to the private sector and back to the south to enhance my career. 20 years later I am here in Atlanta, Ga. continuing my quest for success.
My Interview Question
If you had the chance to do it all over again, would you still attend an HBCU?
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My life's aspirations has always been to own and develop my own companies. It didn't take long to figure out that if I wanted to be paid what I'm worth then it would only be fitting to be my own boss. More importantly, it would be a great feeling to be in a position to retire my mother from her place of empolyment.

To answer your question, "If I had the chance to do it all over again"....YES, I would definitely still attend an HBCU (no if's and's or but's). As a graduate of your sister-school (HU), my thoughts are as you said above. I was exposed to all of those things. Even more... I was in a nurturing friendly & loving environment where people actually cared about you and your future. Only 6 of "us" graduated from my HS class of around 500 students, so I was very happy to get to my mother's alma mater. My brother and I are 3rd generation Hamptonians. I didn't wanna leave :o) Best wishes Michael in all of your challenging endeavors. For gerontology, I actually had to take architecture and was the only student. Peace~ L
