I played a leading role in getting the first woman and first African-American, Lenora Fulani, on the ballot for President in all 50 states as an independent (1988).

I am a leader in the movement for independent politics, starting back in the late 70's. Now, the majority of Americans call themselves independents and do not claim loyalty to any political party. More details as on my resume.

Claim To Fame:
A non-traditional student (older and Anglo) who mixes well with younger and mostly African-American students.
Most Memorable Moment:
This is my first semester back since I went to college back in the early 70's at the University of Florida. My most memorable moment at UF was the call for the resignation of University President, Steven C. O"Connell, who had served on the State Supreme Court when it defied the US Supreme Court decision on desegregating schools. O'Connell did resign.
