What makes me special is my big heart, being empathetic, active listening skills and giving sound advice. I took in my nephews and raised them like sons even though I had a young family to care for. My house has been a refuge for other family members as well. Because I have gone through the same things as other people that helps me with being there for a person, not to be judgmental, and accept the situation for what it is.

Tell me why you are a teacher?

Current Whereabouts:

I am currently into mentoring children through the local adoption/foster care agency. I run an online business helping people get out of debt. To be a well-rounded person, I sell Avon on the side. I encourage youth to further their education, especially the black youth. I enjoy being busy.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

My next goal is the get my Ph.D. This is for personal growth and to complete my last stepping stone of education at the university level. I will always continue to learn because that is my nature. My goal of communicating in another language will not be far off. I have cd's of various languages to get me started. I would like to instill some of my values and love of learning to someone else.

Claim To Fame:

After years of raising children, being a wife, then a divorced mother of three teen sons, to fulfill one of my many dreams; getting my MBA. The goals that I have written out have been accomplished. It's like seeing the word makes you strive for completion.

Most Memorable Moment:

My most memorable experience was as a freshman in a two-year school. I was elected President of Phi Beta Lambda. We, my classmates and I went to a business competition and we learned quite a bit from attending.

Best Memories:

Some of my best memories of high school are getting accepted at schools on the west and east coasts. The Senior Prom was the best because it was held in the new Chicago Ohara Hotel. The completion of the hotel was only months before the prom. As a member of the prom committee, I had a chance to listen to various bands audition, I got to travel to see these bands and was still able to maintain my overall 4.2 g.p.a.
