"I live next to Barrak Obama! Im from a Islamic, Moorish American & Rastafarian upbringing. I'm a Performing Artist & Arts Educator. I love my flag RBG. Teaching the youth brings me joy. I'm working on a documentary/Reality show which will be aired on YOU TUBE. I'm liberal and speak up & Speak out on controversial topics/issues, reality and some of my own personal beliefs (Ex:Poligamy v/s Polyandry). I CAN COOK!...traditional West African>Senegales, Jamaican & Vegetarian Cuisines. Most of all I'm a BLACK LUV EXTREMIST...Each one teach one Children are like sponges so be careful what you spill....R K Bey"

Dance! Dance! & BOX! Greetings, Rajeeyah “Khaanam RaSavoy” Bey educates the history of the Black Dance Experience in America, Specializing in West African Dance, Music and Culture. Khaanam demonstrates the relations of African dance of the diaspora as it pertains to the urban / contemporary dance styles of the new millennium.. Khaanam is a member of the Miniaka Drum & Dance Ensemble. Currently serving as both manager and member of the Moya Dance & Drum, founded by her mother (meaning “family”) in which she and family over the years and now continues to perform, instruct, mentor and lecture at Chicago Schools, educational institutions, private / public sectors, engagements throughout Illinois-nationally. In Fall 09' Khaanm trained as MOYA prepared for Senegal, West Africa's dance competition “Dem Com” where she studied Hip Hop Dance under television crazed dance crew member, performer/choreographer “Renzo” from “Status Quo aka Legendary” and P. Diddy's “Beano Boys.” Better known as “Ms. Bey” to many of Chicago's school youth and community members. In 2007 through 2009 school year where she provided free arts / academic programs (dance, music & visual) and other opportunities (certifications) through the Jane Adams Hull House Association to elementary / high school students, parents, community members and built relations with community organizations throughout Chicago's north side. Alongside programming, simultaneously Ms. Bey formed a Student Organization where she choreographed works and taught physical fitness “Jazzercise” to women of the Uptown community. Dance studies have included Dunham Technique, West Indian Folk, Modern and Ballet. In Summer of 06', she traveled to Jamaica to study her long time love for the ever popular “Reggae DanceHall.” RaSavoy highlighted her erudition by performing with Jamaica's internationalist “Prince Tiba.” Khaanam attended Morris Brown College in 96/97-graduating 02' from Columbia College of Chicago. Rajeeyah is the daughter of international renowned “Aissatou Bey,” pioneer of the MUNTU Dance Theater of Chicago where she too has studied and performed with during the early 90's. She's studied with a mountainous of artists and performed with several groups including “Les Ballet Africans” of Senegal, West Africa. Khaanam currently instructs Sensual Movement, West Indian Dance Styles and traditional West African Dance. “I'm many things... mom, mentor, arts advocate for youth, creative writer, cook, entrepreneur... but most of all...I'm a Dancer!” DANCER 4 LIFE!
Most Memorable Moment:
*Me & Tammy Jenkings getting caught disguised as boys in the boys dorm during Morris Brown College homecoming 96.' :) Mo B. Aerobics Instuctor: For one semester I instructed, took attendance, gave finals and graded students....Yay!!!!!!!! When I took off my head scarf, permed my hair and stepped out to a Tri State party and NO one knew who I was. 1 young man from NY said "Dam% Black Staillion! Im saying yo, Is that you?!" Allowing females to be able to utalize the male/athletic workout facilities (weight room)..this is where & when I began to weightlift & train...Yay!!!!!!
