My Interview Question
If you could live in any television series or movie, which would it be?
Life & Professional Aspirations:
In life, it can be difficult to find leaders amongst the students; leaders who are dedicated to their studies, dependable, and who are also well liked and trusted by their peers. Since the beginning of my high school career, it has been my personal goal to become just that. Because of this goal, I have indulged myself in leadership activities as well as programs that allow and encourage my active leadership. Extracurricular activities such as Student Council, Debate & Forensics, and Student Class Officers supply me with the leadership and character abilities that I use daily. I have also come to expect the same things of my peers that I expect of myself: good grades, good attitudes, and promising futures. We as youth have been bestowed so many opportunities to fulfill our dreams and ambitions. So when I witness my peers becoming apathetic towards their education, futures, or life in general, it disturbs me. I lead by example; I can’t possibly lecture anyone else about their education, if I let my own deteriorate. I compel myself daily to speak clearly, to be confident, and to constantly have a high maturity level. In reference to my maturity, my peers have given me various nicknames, my favorite of which are: “Oprah” “Condoleezza”, and “Forty-year-old Grandma.” I take these names as compliments, understanding that my peers say them with benevolence, and also knowing that I have impacted them in some way. Mahatma Gandhi once said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” I have made it my personal mission to implement this quote into my everyday life. I fully intend to make a difference in the lives of those around me. I plan to execute this by combining my performance skills with my communication skills, using these in my pursuit of a major in Political Science. Outside of my career goals, I hope to one day have a family of my own with a loving husband. I also desire to be happy. Without true happiness, even the highest paying job in the world wouldn’t be satisfying. More than anything, though, I want to always be strongly rooted in my Christian faith. As my favorite scripture from Proverbs Chapter 3 Verses 5-6 reads: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” I look forward to the future, and as long as I stay humble and faithful, I am certain that I will be able to accomplish all of the things that I’ve set my mind to achieve.
