My name is Akira Hemingway and I am originally from Somerset New Jersey. I moved to Greensboro North Carolina in 2005 to pursue my dream of becoming a college graduate. I found the institution that changed my entire life at Bennett College for women. From the first day to my last day on Bennett�s campus, I can honestly say I would not change one moment of it. As a non-traditional student living the college lifestyle had it�s challenges, there were a few times I wanted to throw in the towel but my Bennett sister�s would not let me. The former president Dr. Jonnetta B. Cole once told me �God put me on this earth to serve a purpose, but it wouldn�t be easy�. I believed that and followed my dreams. Not only did I graduate from Bennett College for women with a BA in Psychology but I graduated with ambitions to make a name in this world for myself.

Immediately after graduation, I started my graduate studies at the University of Phoenix in Charlotte NC. I graduated in January of 2013. While in my program I learned how to generate an income from home. I am a professional blog writer, content writer, article ghost writer and a social media manager. I most recent accomplishment is becoming an entrepreneur. I�ve started a wonderful health and wellness business thru It works Global. I love what I do and the freedom it allows me to have. While enhancing my skill level and starting my own business has been mind blow, the most satisfying accomplishment I have had is becoming a mother!! I am very blessed and I love my life.

Most Memorable Moment:

Freshmen year at an all girl school!! Dorm life was unforgettable : )
