About   (request update)
What makes me special is that I speak from my heart. I was told by my cardiologist that I have a beautiful heart, and that is truth inside and out. "To know me is to love me" I am a down to earth person; my word is as good as gold. I was told by my father when I was young to always be the best at whatever I do, and education is the key to success so whatever you learn no one can take away. I am and advocate for education and I believe that we need to educate the leaders of tomorrow; I will like to contribute my expertise to help turn this nation around, by helping to develop the minds of the creator of our future. We should learn from history, like many dynasties before us, there are survival skills and practices needed to avoid the repeat of history. I am a native of Central America born and raised in Panama, migrated to this great country that have given me much in life and I will like to give back in the form of making this country great again, they way it was presented to me when I was young. I am special because GOD made me SPECIAL. "I am who I say I am, I can do what I say I can do, and I have never steer people in the wrong way. I AM BLESSED. No matter what my circumstance, I give it my ALL.
Current Whereabouts:
I am a mentor for the imentor organization that works with New York City High schools. I volunteer at Common Cents, a non-profit organization that runs the Penny Harvest every year in New York City public schools. I tutored at the Downtown Learning Center for two years, teaching Spanish to adults who needed to learn it as a second language. I served as a recorder at Brooklyn Tabernacle, in the Sermon Ministry.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
As a single parent I did not have as much time to volunteer as I would have liked. Like many parent s today, I had to work two jobs to keep food on the table and support my child so I know how it feels. My motivation comes from the desire to help students in New York City public schools achieve an excellent education and help parents gain knowledge of the opportunities the public school system have to offer. As a parent of an Honor Roll student who graduated from a New York City public school, I know that with hard work and dedication the system works if schools and parents work together. As a parent coordinator I work hard to get parents involved in their children’s education and provide them with the necessary tools. I am the liaison between the school and the parent body helping parents understand the importance of their participation in their children’s education. “It takes a village to raise a child” that’s why we need to work together to educate the leaders of tomorrow. I will like the opportunity to contribute my skills and abilities to the success of the education system in America.
