(interview me)

Accounting Manager, Propeller Industries

About   (request update)
The youngest of 5 children, I have a hard time accepting the word no. Not in a brat-like way, but more so in a "I'm determined and watch me succeed" type of way. I am known for crushing goals efficiently and effectively.

I come from a long line of educators, nearly 5 or 6 generations. I am the outsider and I prefer it that way. Lol. I fell in love with numbers at the age of 5 when I learned about money and became the poster girl for cheap. As I grew older, my love for business grew and I combined the two as an Accountant.

I love numbers, interpreting numbers and solving problems using numbers.

I consider myself a financial stylist.
Current Whereabouts:
Books. I read now more than ever from finance, urban fiction to life help. I consider myself a lifetime learner and love to indulge in a good article to challenge my thinking. Outside of books, I follow the stock market closely. I am so intrigued with what Tesla is doing!
Life & Professional Aspirations:
Empower 1 million women through their finances by helping them dumb debt and create their version of financial freedom. Develop a financial literacy curriculum to help Black students learn about budgeting, saving and building wealth. Become location flexible. As a millennial, I don't desire to be stuck in the office in the long term of 20 years. As long as you have wifi and a computer, you can accomplish the world.
Education   (request update)
Jackson State University class of 2015
Undergrad Major: Accounting
Claim To Fame:
Accountant in a family of Educators From as long as I can remember, I never wanted to be a teacher or school administrator. I was in love with business and math. Initially, my major was Management, but after the first week of my Accounting course, I immediately changed my major to Accounting which is the perfect combination of my one for numbers and business.
Most Memorable Moment:
My freshman year of college, my friends and I stayed outside talking all night, literally, to watch the sunrise. We talked about life, love and successful beginnings. We were outside until about 5:30 in the morning and I had an 8 o'clock class. Luckily, my day ended at 12. I skipped lunch and passed out. Lol.
High School: Leflore County High School in Itta Bena, MS class of 2011

Activities & Accomplishments:
Salutatorian, Gates Millennium Scholar, Public Speaker, Who's Who Among English Students, Highest average in English, voted Most Likely Succeed, President of Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, 4-H Club M
Best Memories:
This is a tie between two events. One being the day I learned I was chosen as a Gates Millennium Scholar. The other event is pretty hilarious. My sophomore year of high school, someone started a food fight, hitting our principal in the back with a red slush. I was too shocked to throw anything, so I hid behind a table.
