About   (request update)
As a modern mid-class individual I have experienced many financial downfalls and made wrong turns through out my high school years. It began to feel like I was stuck in a maze where I could not find a way out. I have been through a devastating journey that many could have not taken due the challenge of multitasking between grief and school management. When I first started school I was not physically or mentally prepared. I did not have educational support or a home where I could call a family. I faced educational problems where I could do class work with no problem but occur with poor test scores. Sometimes I began to give up and douse in sorrow because it begin to feel discouraging that I had no help. We moved from home to home because my father turned himself against me and my mother worked day in night in order to take care of my two sisters and I. But as a young minded adolescent I could not manage to stay focus, until one day I realize that nothing or no one can stop you from a better life. After this point I took up responsibility and got a job. My motto was to live to work above my past and never yield to challenges or critics. I wished to go beyond and above, while letting others know that there is a will and a way. Eventually I became the captain of my high schools dance team, co-captain of the cheerleading squad, I work and still manage to maintain a 3.5 GPA. I take my education very seriously; I strive to be a well-rounded individual who will influence generations to come. The driving forces behind my motives are my family. I am very family orientated because my family has never had anyone to look up to. At home At home, I live with my mother, my two older sisters, and my brother. My dad is not around; he disclaimed me as a very young adolescent. It hurts me to see my mother work so much and to see how tired she is when he gets home everyday. My family general education is not so high. Nobody in my family graduated from high school due to a rough child hood.
My goal is to become first generation to college. I want to be the leader in my family and change what is usually expected. I am determined and I will never give up.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
Life is all about choices. You may not be capable of knowing the outcome but you can make the decision. I made the decision that I want to be successful in my future. I know the only way one can be successful in their endeavors is if they educate themselves wish to be a Correction Officer for juveniles. I want to have the ability to demonstrate success in interfacing with marketing and public relations principles in substance abuse treatment centers, and to communicate effectively with attorneys, ministers and other persons concerning the welfare of individual prisoners. I want to able to, “Help Kids Help Themselves” and open the door for many courageous, determined, and creative youth like me.
