About   (request update)
Since the start of Antonia Nwankwo-Marshall‘s college career at Hampton University, she was determined to be involved in everything her HBCU experience had to offer. From 2007-2009 she joined The Hampton University Marching Force as a member of SILKY flag line. In the years to follow she would continue to pursue an interest in research. Her first research experience dates back to her 8th grade year, when research with a local medical school professor lead to a publication with Merck, Co. Antonia attended internships and conferences across the nation discussing and presenting the latest scientific research in areas like organic chemistry, material science and physics. She participated in and is a member of several organizations such as Golden Key International Honor Society, Beta Kappa Chi National Scientific Honor Society and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. just to name a few. Currently Antonia Nwankwo-Marshall is a Clinical Trials Research Coordinator in the Ocular Immunology Dept. at The Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Claim To Fame:
In March of this year, Antonia became the youngest person in department history to be promoted to program coordinator in the shortest period of time. Later that month she was featured in the global pharmaceutical AbbVie (formerly Abbott Laboratories) newsletter as the Humira VISUAL Study Research Coordinator SITE in Focus. Another achievement Antonia can't stop smiling about is her recent nuptials to fellow greek Edward C. Marshall, Jr. member of Kappa Alpha Phi. The couple wed August 31, 2013 in Youngstown, Ohio.
Most Memorable Moment:
Two great moments come to mind. One of my memorable experiences in college was the Hampton vs. Princeton game. As a member of the Hampton University Marching Force Flag Line Silky, I got to witness the first time a predominately white ivy league played a historically black ivy league school. The crowd was so welcoming and they loved our half time show. The other moment that I will never forget, is marching for our President Barack Obama in the 2009 Inauguration. It must have been one of the coldest days of the year in DC and will were still marching, It became worth all the wait when President and First Lady danced to the sounds of our band. Those moments will be something I tell to my children.
High School: Ursuline High School in Youngstown, OH class of 2007
