About (request update)

I am 48 years old I have been married 30 years. I have three adult children one with Autism and I have a 6 year old grandson. I went back to school at 38 to get my Associates in Human Services I took a five year break my youngest daughter was having difficulty in school. What makes me special is being a wife and mother and loving it and having the opportunity to go back to school so I can hopefully make a difference in lives of children with disabilities and their families like so many people have made a difference in mine

Current Whereabouts:

I am working as a teacher assistant in special education for PPCD Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities. I thought I wanted a BA in Sociology to go into Social Work. I am leaning towards getting my BA in sociology and my Teacher certification

Life & Professional Aspirations:

I would love to get A masters in social work and possibly open a non-profit organization that would support families with young children and adult children with disabilities. So that families can have support for when their child is in the public school system and when they get out of the public school system. I want families to know what the school must provide by law and what other social services are available to them while in school and when they get out of high school

MY CLAIM TO FAME IS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL AT AGE 38 AND RETURNING BACK AGAIN AT 47 TO GO TO A UNIVERSITY BUT BEFORE I DID ALL T HAT I HAVE BEEN MARRIED 30 YEARS AND HAVE RAISED 3 CHILDREN WITH ONE BEING AN ADULT WITH AUTISM

Most Memorable Moment:

I ATTENDED A COMMUNITY COLLEGE BEFORE I TRANSFERRED TO HUSTON-TILLOTSON UNIVERSITY I WON A SCHOLARSHIP FROM THAT COLLEGE FOR WRITING AN ESSAY AND I WAS A MEMBER OF PHI THETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY. I NOW HAVE A 3.75 GPA AT HUSTON TILLOTSON UNIVERSITY AND WHEN I HAVE TIME BETWEEN WORKING FULL-TIME AND SCHOOL I WILL JOIN THE HONOR SOCIETY AT THE UNIVERSITY I AM ATTENDING NOW
