About   (request update)
Wendy Kobler is a graduate of Alabama A&M with her Master of Science in Education as well as Vice President for Marketing, Communications and Advancement at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Huntsville, Alabama. Kobler is a natural leader delivering tangible results as an accomplished communicator and change agent. In this position as Vice President, she provides executive leadership in the key areas of fund-raising, alumni, corporate and government relations; and marketing and communications, critical areas which build Alabama A&M’s visibility and community relationships, while supporting its mission, goals and strategic objectives. Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Kobler agrees with his words and believes what she does in her role at Alabama A&M is the key to unlocking the door of Education for many students now and those to come in the future..
Kobler has strengthened the institution’s brand by launching a new website, social media and targeted outreach programs; she conceived and organized the President's fireside chats for improved student communications, campus lunch and learns, and town and gown events promoting the university's good work locally and globally. She personally requested and coordinated visits of two of Alabama's highest ranking elected officials to visit the AAMU campus – an unprecedented historical first for both individuals. She increased funds raised; attendance & awareness at the University’s signature event, the annual Black Tie Gala, and in fiscal year 2013 set a 10 year fundraising record… raising over $5.1 million dollars.
Professionally, she has appeared as a marketing and branding strategist on “Fox News: Fox & Friends”, as a branding commentator on ABC’s Radio Network and has been interviewed on NPR and Star Magazine. She has also been featured in Business Week, Entrepreneur as well as many local newspapers, radio programs and television news shows. She has also been involved professionally through serving as Board Chairman for LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, member of the CASE HBCU Taskforce, involved in Junior League of Huntsville and is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County.
Kobler’s professional paradigm is “Be passionate about what you do. You will spend a lot of time doing it, so make certain you love it!!” Her personal paradigm is “It is better to give than receive. And find joy in what you do because there is no going backwards…There is no easy path to success but hard work.”
Also, she believes that developing your personal brand is essential for the advancement of your career and development as a leader. That personal brand should be viewed as a trademark; an asset that you must protect while continuously molding and shaping it. To her one’s personal brand must be managed with the intention of helping others benefit from having a relationship with you.
