About   (request update)
My name is Khadija Jahfiya and I am a freshman at Spelman College. I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up in Birmingham, AL. All of my primary schooling was at private schools. I attended Cathedral of the Cross, St. Barnabas Catholic School, Joseph S. Bruno Montessori School, and Indian Springs School. My favorite of these schools was Indian Springs School. I loved that I had so much freedom there, the sense of community, and the support from faculty and staff. Some extracurriculars I participated in were chamber choir, concert choir, student government, residential life, volleyball, softball, and key club. When choosing a college, I wanted a similar experience to the one I had at Indian Springs but still some new experiences. I knew that Spelman would provide me with that. Spelman is an institution where you can be involved in all of sorts of activities while simultaneously being academically successful. I also admire the sense of sisterhood on the campus and the sense of community within the AUC (Atlanta University Center: Spelman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University).
