About   (request update)
Myron Gattison was born on August 10th, 1988 to 17 year old Melinda Gattison at Wilson Hospital in Darlington South Carolina. The father was never present so he shall remain nameless. His life growing up in a single parent home was quite different from most, because although his father was not present in his life his grandparents gave all the support he needed, helping out when his mother lacked. Myron was always larger than most children his age so he quickly took a liking to the game of football. Starting at age 9 he played and continued throughout high-school and college, but being so large did come without its issues. At age 12, already being 6’0 tall and 305 pounds he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes as well as hypertension and high cholesterol. This became a turning point in Myron’s life because he knew if he did not start to take care of himself better his young life would end prematurely.

Myron continued to excel at football, now being 6’6 330 pounds. Doing so adopted a better work ethic, in turn trimming him down and helping his body control his diabetes and other health issues. Upon entering high school his health issues were somewhat under control, but some days still plagued him on the football field, but through hard work and dedication Myron continued to fight and win his battle. Entering his senior year of high-school Myron had become quite a Prospect on the football field attracting attention from a few division 1 programs. Not used to all the attention Myron started to slack off in his classes, causing his grades to decline. He had “the big head”, getting disrespectful towards his mother, and by the time his senior year was done all of the division 1 programs had withdrew their offers because his low grades would not get him into school. Felling ashamed and embarrassed Myron ended up attending Newberry College, a small school in South Carolina. Myron would go on to stay 1 school year at Newberry before he decided he no longer wanted to be there.

When Myron returned to Darlington, he did not have a plan of action, he just started to hang with the boys, going to clubs and drinking weekly. He was not pressed to work or do anything because his mom supplied him with nice cars and money for clothes. Before he knew it almost 3 years had passed and what was once “the next big thing” out of Darlington was now just another statistic. It slowly but surely started to sink into his head that this was not the life he wanted to live. He started to attend church on the regular to seek the help he felt he needed, eventually giving his life to Christ getting saved in June of 2009. After he got saved he saw his life get tougher instead of easier. He fell into deep depression because he could not get back into school and felt as though he failed in life. On the morning of July 4th 2009 Myron gave up on life. He went to the only place he knew success which was his high-school football stadium and cried all day asking God why. He eventually got into his truck and crashed straight into a brick wall attempting to end his life. On that very day Myron understood that he had a purpose in this world. He stepped out of that vehicle without a scratch on his body. He now had a renewed strength and began to work hard towards going back to college, within 6 months he had 3 Scholarship offers to go back to college and continue to play football again. He eventually chose Johnson C. Smith University to continue his education.

Now 21 years old at Johnson C. Smith Myron became known as Uncle Gatt to his fellow teammates because he took college serious this time and seemed to have so much wisdom for his age. He felt like he had a new lease on life, but on the football field things were not the same. He played 2 seasons at JCSU before he departed from the team. The spring going into his senior year he found out he would no longer be on Scholarship, that was the worse day ever, but little did he know that would change his life. Now that football was all but over for Myron he started to focus more of school and life after football. Myron always had a knack for speaking and was able to deliver messages in a very unique way, style and word play that appeal to his peers but grace and professionalism that any professor would respect. Having a love for people and the youth my started to post original quotes and thoughts on social networks and before he knew it people were inviting him to speak and youth events. He came up with a mentoring program called “REALBOSSGANG” and his small business is called “LEGITLIFE”. Myron has just finished his first of many more books and looks to continue to grow his brand into a nationwide movement.
