About (request update)

As a first year student at Spelman College, I find that some of my thoughts and practices are considered radical in comparison to other students and faculty members. Although I appreciate the tradition of Spelman, I find myself becoming more of an advocate everyday for those who don't perfectly fit "The Spelman Mold." Spelman as a whole accepts students of different backgrounds, but I personally feel a strong connection to those who still feel exiled or uncomfortable because of their differences with what is "stereotypical" of Spelman College. I plan to stand my ground and not let others' opinions stray me away from my own personal beliefs regardless of if they may or may not be standard of Spelman College.

Current Whereabouts:

Desperately searching for college funds to continue my education without "majoring in Debt." Learning about different communities and lifestyles. Broadening my horizons to be more versatile.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

I plan to eventually start a Fine Arts School catering to students interested in Drama, Fashion, Art, Dance etc. Until I have the capital to open my dream school, I'd love to work in business management or a related field involving business or economics.

I'm in the Honors Program and plan to run for leadership roles this year. I'm well rounded, stand firm in my opinions even when I stand alone, and am sure that I'll enjoy my years at Spelman!

So far, New Student Orientation has been an amazing experience! I love meeting and bonding with my new Spelman sisters!
