"I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and born in 1985. During my life I have never not been an active person. In the beginning stages of my life (5-10 years of age) I was a tumbler who would tumble anywhere at anytime in the streets of Chicago with my cousin and brother. Eventually I would move onto loving the game of basketball (10-17 years of age). As funny as it sounds now, many people thought I was good enough to make it in the nba, but basketball ended up being something I wasn't really passionate about as I got older. By the time I was in 7th grade I had turned into the typical premier athlete mastering basketball, baseball and track. I'd go on to win over 30 trophies from basketball and baseball and 50 track ribbons. I even had the opportunities of winning a medal in the state competitions for the high jump and the state competitions of baseball when I was 13 years old. Although I am not very tall was able to dunk on a regulation sized basketball rim. My athletic career would start to disappear as I went through high school due to some pretty extreme injuries.

I've always been facinated with working out, even at the age of 12. At this age I was already doing push ups, sit ups, calf raises and running hills to improve my leg power. The one person who has always inspired me to achieve a great physique is Bruce Lee. I think I'm about half way to where he was at his peak, but I will strive to get there! But I needed to start lifting weights to began the process of developing my body. At 16 years old I started lifting weights and began to get a little thicker. There were many injuries during my weight lifting days, but it did get me a lot stronger. I would lift weights pretty regularly until I was 23 years old and was off and on with it for a few years from that point. Currently for the past year I've turned into a calisthenics junky and have given up on weight lifiting for now. As you can see fitness is my passion!"
Current Whereabouts:
Fit Like Me for Free was originally launched May 1, 2009. In the beginning the channel was initially launched for Marcus "Mr. Fit Like Me" to share his workouts with the world and help people lose love handles and lower stomach fat. Quickly questions for losing fat in other parts of the body started to come in to Marcus and he responded with some pretty good videos of routines to help these different troubled areas on the body. Over the past few years there has been a number of different workout trends that have past through. Circuit training, cross training and more, Marcus has done it all, but during the past year Marcus has given up the weights and train only with body weight, also known as old school gymnastics training (calisthenics). " I was a big weight lifter for years, but now I've started working out in way that is fun for me and I never get bored. This type of working out lessens my risk to injury, which is primarily why I have given up on the weights for now." Mr. Fit Like Me is currently in the beginning stages of cross fitness and will soon share videos for this, but will continue to upload helpful videos for love handles, lower stomach fat, man boobs and other trouble areas.
