A-B honor roll, Drama club, First place winner of my school's Know Your Heritage competition three years running, Hirsch Metropolitan concert choir, All-City Chorus, Hirsch Huskies swim team, Hirsch H

Best Memories:

My best High School memories would be winning the Know Your Heritage competition and my participation in the concert choir. The Know Your Heritage competition, along with my dad, helped to develop my love for history and enhanced my curiosity of my own family's history and genealogy. A great sense of empowerment came along with this victory as well as pride in being a black young man in south Chicago. I knew from that point on I was meant for better. The choir gave me the confidence to utilize my gift of music. I remember the happiness I felt when I saw my mom sitting in the audience. It was my chance to show her the talent that I had inherited from her. She gazed at me in awe of my courage to sing and the fact that actually could. Those were two of my proudest and most unforgettable moments.
