About   (request update)
Hi, my name is Courtney Hall I am the youngest of three kids well when I was young my father died of H.I.V and my mother fought tooth and nail to get what she needed for me and my siblings until her sickness caught up to her and she couldn't fight no more she also passed away from H.I.V when I was thirteen. I started to live with my grandmother after a while , but after my mother died my life changed I just couldn't seem to get it together in life or school I wasn't seeing my future clearly and I basically gave up on everything and everyone. My grades weren't the best and I just didn't want to focus on anything school related. It wasn't getting any better for me, so my Aunt and uncle were kind enough to let me live with them and their children of five, they showed me so much love and compassion and so many other wonderful things but they also showed me the love of god growing up with my mother she tried her best to take us to church and have us read the bible but she could only do so much, But when I got to my aunt and uncle they focused their family and life around god and it really helped me to see things in a better perspective. That’s when I realized I had to get it together, that I had a future that god has planned and I need to fight to get where he needed me to be. I worked day and night to get my grades back on order.
Many people and teachers didn't think I Could make it because I was so behind, but it’s true what they say hard work does pay off. I made it to my senior year and graduated with a 3.0.After I did get back on track and got some hope I wanted to go to college because before I didn't really see it in my future, but since I go it together too late my grades from my previous years weren't too good so getting into any school except community is a struggle for me right now many of my family members haven't even been to college, so this is a big thing for me and my family, since my parents died I don't have any money expect the funds from my fafasa that is helping me to go to school but that's not enough and my family doesn't have the funds to put me through school so scholarships are all I have and I'm not getting anything back from any that I apply for, but I haven't given up. I've gotten this far I can make it. I want to further my education in helping children who don’t have anyone in their lives or their parents weren't there for them. I want to be a light to many kids who don’t have one.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I want to become a child social worker, and work with children who were mentally and physically abused, and hopefully one day open my own practice.
