About   (request update)
Rony Delgarde migrated to the U.S. ten years ago from Haiti with $5 and a holy bible in his pocket. His journey as a new immigrant is of courage and inspiration. He attended college and earned an MBA. Delgarde is an Inventory Operation Specialist and Management Consultant by profession. He supported efforts on speaking out for the poor internationally in the following areas Housing Rehabilitation, Global Food Security Initiative, Preventing Child Trafficking, Empowering Women, HIV/AIDS, Education and Technology. As a community leader he is diligent, dedicated and passionate in giving back to the community and volunteers for numerous nonprofit organizations and a Mentor for the Gwinnett Public Schools Program. In 2002, he cofounded the Volunteer Interpreters Patrols recruiting 200 bilingual volunteers to ride with Gwinnett County Police and Sheriff Officers assisting crime victims and witnesses, who do not speak English.
Rony knew paint was limited in Haiti and his interest about how paint is disposed led him to start Global Paint for Charity, Inc. The first time he landed at Miami International Airport he was captivated by the colorfully painted buildings he saw. “This proved a lot of paint available in the U.S.”

March 2010 he visited Kenya and Uganda and was surprised by the amount of unpainted schools, orphanages and homes realized the need to beautify global housing projects in the region. He returned to the U.S, Rony Delgarde founded Global Paint for Charity an Atlanta based nonprofit organization. The mission is to recycle leftover paint from residents and businesses country wide consolidates it and donates it to vulnerable individuals in developing countries around the world.

Delgarde has collected paint of all major top brands including Ralph Laurent, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr, Glidden and Valspar from residents and businesses from coast to coast. So far, Global Paint for Charity recovered over 100,000 gallons of paint which could have ended in landfills instead he donated the paint for projects in Kenya, Haiti, Mexico, Honduras, Chile, Dominican Republic, and Uganda. He recently returned from Equatorial Guinea, where he donated 200 gallons of paint to renovate an orphanage for children who lost their parent to HIV/AIDS , and sent 4,400 gallons of Latex paint valued at $32,000 to Central America. Mr. Delgarde hopes to soon collect and ship 20,000 gallons to support reconstruction and development projects for earthquake victims in Haiti. They have inspired businesses and residents from 25 states across the U.S to donate leftover paint as well as monetary contributions which help to offset cost of shipping. They are expanding and recently added more collection sites nationally and internationally. They partners with Salvation Army, Goodwill, Home Depot, Sherwin Williams in some areas and Waste Management Agencies in Atlanta.

Mr. Delgarde has the assistance of a board of directors consisting of small business owners, government officials, religious leaders and veterans. Students from Georgia Tech have partnered with GPC to design a machine that can make 3,000 gallons of paint per day. They are working to raise the $95,000 the cost to build machine. Also, he has been working with the ProBono Partnership of Atlanta on various legal researches from environmental requirements and legal documentations for the organization. Since they began this partnership, the ProPono staffs have worked with various high profile Legal Firms in Atlanta (for instance, King and Spalding Law Firm, Baker Donelson, Jones Day Law Firm, Kilpatrick Stockton and the Home Depot legal team) and gained the support of many amazingly talented Lawyers to draft contracts and sometimes conduct researches to make sure he has the proper structures in place to grow his organization.
