Tamala D. Bullard is one of those lucky people who get to do the work that she loves. She loves human resources because of the connection with employees. Currently serving as Senior Manager Human Resources - Tool Segment at Newell Rubbermaid she has the opportunity to help develop careers, while at the same time helping the organization achieves its mission. In her current position she is focused on identifying, recruiting, managing and devolving staff for Newell Rubbermaid Inc., an S&P 500 company, a global marketer of consumer and commercial products with sales of approximately $6 billion and a strong portfolio of brands.

Bullard's interest in mentoring and giving back to the community dates back to her days, where she was Vice-President of the Senior Class at Winston Salem State University and more recently at her work Newell Rubbermaid. Here she saw firsthand the power of people engaged in helping their teams meet personal goals. Throughout her professional career, mentors had a profound effect on nourishing her goals and aspiration, and had instilled in her the importance of giving back.

After graduating from Winston Salem State University in 1992, she worked for a year in banking before setting her sights on the manufacturing industry. Bullard took an entry-level position as a packer at Sara Lee in 1993 with the vision of moving up the ladder. Armed with focus, a belief in herself, and trust in God, she moved first to a team leadership role and then to management. When she realized that she had the skills for an open human resources position, she grabbed the opportunity. While working as an HR Generalist at Sara Lee, she earned her Master's Degree in Human Resources from Gardner Webb University.

Bullard joined the HR Ranks at Newell Rubbermaid in 2006 as the Senior Human Resources Generalist and has held roles of increasing responsibilities. Bullard earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) while at Newell Rubbermaid so that she could be prepared for the next steps in her career.

Bullard holds additional professional certifications from LOMINGER International and Human Capital Management. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Charlotte Chapter of National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated currently serving as an HIV Trainer.

Bullard was born and reared in Laurinburg, North Carolina by her parents William and Flora Bullard along with her siblings.
