Dr. Claudia Barnett is a Training and Performance Improvement Technologist. She holds a PhD in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University and a Masters Degree in Industrial Organizational Development and Human Behavior from Kean University in New Jersey. An independent Consultant since 1995, she is CEO of CGB Associates, LLC an educational and performance improvement company. Dr. Barnett is a Clinical Trainer and Graduate Professor. As an educator, Dr. Barnett trains and enlightens the adult learner from Physicians and Nurses to Graduate students along with Business owners on a continual basis.
A Training professional with over 27 years of experience, Dr. Barnett enjoys what she does. Her passion is to mentor those that she comes in contact with on a daily basis. Sticking to her craft, Dr. Barnett truly believes in the improvement of performance of all individuals; including herself. As a Doctoral Mentor for numerous individuals who have successfully completed the PhD journey, Dr. Barnett has assisted those in the process of writing their dissertation through practical application of their skills and ability. Overall, her desire is to serve others and to make a tremendous difference in the world around her. Her book: The Dissertation Process: A Step by Step Mentored Guide is an extension of her work, in addition to her Educational contributions on Black Enterprise.com.

She currently serves as the Chair of the Volunteer Committee for the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and is an editorial contributor to their website. Dr. Barnett is a conference speaker for numerous venues including: the International Mentoring Association, the International Society for Performance Improvement, and the National Black Graduate Student Association to name a few.

Dr. Barnett is active in her community, and has served as President of her son’s High School Band Booster Organization for 2 consecutive years, has been a guest participant for Diamonds in the Rough (a female youth mentoring organization) and currently holds the position of Co-Chairperson of the Parent Action Committee for the 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta Organization (a mentoring organization for Young men) for one of the Metropolitan locations. She is also an active member of Atlanta CARES, a National mentoring organization.
A mother of three, Dr. Barnett believes in living by example to her children.
