About   (request update)
Born in Mississippi but raised in El Dorado, Arkansas, Erica Michelle Singleton spent her early years re-defining what it meant to be a “drama queen”. While in grade school, she rushed home to catch an episode of the former hit TV show Moesha. With each season of the hit series, Erica’s fascination grew for the main character played by singer/actress Brandy Norwood. She often she tried to emulate the style and attitude of "Moesha", which essentially ignited her passion for acting.

Enrolled in Drama 101 her freshman year of high school, the ambitious thespian was determined to utilize her skills every opportunity she got. One night during a routine parent-teacher conference session, Erica’s drama teacher told her mom that if Erica stayed in dram all four years, she could aid in getting her full academic scholarships to any performing arts school in the country. Unfortunately, Erica was denied enrollment into Drama 102 the following year.

Propelled by her determination, she refused to allow rejection to stop her. After one year of attending Jackson State University in Mississippi as a Psychology major, Erica decided to travel to the west coast to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress. Landing an agent within weeks of being in the big city, things were looking up for the young starlet. With a spread in Cosmopolitan magazine and appearances in stage plays and short films, one would think Erica was well on her way to the top. Blindsided by life in the fast lane, the southern belle decided to re-pack her suitcase and head back to the South.

In the summer of 2010, the former Homecoming Queen re-admitted at Jackson State University, this time as a hungry Theater Major. A non-traditional freshman with a long road ahead of her, Erica was determined to finish what she started. Keeping her head to the books with her passion fueling her goals, Erica had completed her four year degree in twenty-two months. Not only did her hard work earn her an early graduation date, but she also graduated no.1 in her department with Magna Cum Laude Honors. In addition to receiving the Academic Achievement Award for maintaining the highest GPA, Erica was the first theater student in the history of the University to be elected as the College of Liberal Arts Class Marshal. Leading her entire graduating class onto the field during Jackson States 2012 Spring commencement, Erica had declared that the world her stage and she was ready for her cue.

February 2012, less than one month after signing with a New Orleans talent agency, the ready-made starlet landed her first commercial since her return to the acting world. Three weeks later, she went on to audition for her first ever movie role. After weeks of playing the much hated waiting game, she received the news that she was offered the part of “Daphne” in the 2013 Sequel of “The Last Exorcism 2”.

The small town girl with the big city dreams, Erica Michelle often refers to herself as "Actress, Activist, Master of adversity." Proving that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, she takes responsibility for her actions yet takes no credit for her success. Knowing that she would not be where she is if it weren't for God, she humbly admits that she is highly favored. With chapters closing and new ones unfolding, Erica Michelle may not be a success story, but she is indeed a story of success.
