Elizabeth Espy is Deputy Manager of Public Affairs with the Atlanta Police Department where she oversees strategic initiatives, social media initiatives and special projects. She is also the CEO of Events by Elizabeth, a boutique event planning firm based in Atlanta, GA. Her clients have included Teach for America, Morehouse College, Paradigm Asset Management, Ambassador Andrew Young and GoodWorks International as well as many other institutions.

Prior to Events by Elizabeth, Ms. Espy earned rave reviews and applause for her work at Kestrel Communications, a television production agency where she served as Senior Producer. While there she was responsible for the creative development of television programs and corporate videos in all stages of pre-production, production, and post-production. Some of her award-winning productions included the NFL Players Rookie Premiere, The Story of East Lake, for which she won two EMMY Awards, Celebrating the First Tee, and an informational DVD on Cancer used for corporate fundraising with the Emory Hospital Winship Cancer Center. While at Kestrel, Ms. Espy won the Pioneer Black Journalists Award for two years in Individual Talent-Writer, Segment, and Series Producer Category.

Elizabeth Espy graduated from Spelman College with a BA in English and received her Master’s Degree from Northwestern University. She is the National Secretary the Girl Friends, Inc., and holds membership in Buckhead-Cascade Chapter of the Links, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She has served on the board of The Center for Children & Young Adults and as the National Secretary for the Jack and Jill of American Foundation. Her volunteer work includes Obama for America, M. Agnes Jones Elementary School mentor, Coretta Scott King Youth Academy Mentor, and Tutoring at Parkside Elementary School. Ms. Espy is a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and in her spare time she enjoys reading a good mystery and trying new recipes. She has one daughter and is currently working on a novel.
