Anthony Reed

Anthony Reed currently serving as: Interim Assistant Administrator for the Alcorn State University Extension Program.

Mr. Reed directs day-to-day activities for all county and regional programs for Alcorn State University Extension Program in the state of Mississippi. Those program areas include: Community Resource Development, 4-H and Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture and Natural Resources. He also provides leadership to a number of Off Campus Centers and Farmers Markets.

Mr. Reed holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, A Masters in Agricultural Economics from Alcorn State, currently pursuing a PhD in Agricultural Science at Mississippi State University and a number of certifications and certificates.

Mr. Reed has over 23 years of experience working with small and limited resource families within the 1890 Extension System in Texas and Mississippi, which focuses on small farms, alternative enterprises, family consumer Sciences, rural community and economic development. He served as a USDA Fellow where he conducted extensive research on the Land Loss issue in the United States and provided advisement to the countries of South Africa and India Extension Programs. He has extensive knowledge in grant writing, federal and state fund management, community enhancement, farm management, risk management and small business development. He desires to produce viable and sustainable small farmers, fruitful communities and enhance the quality of life of families and rural communities.

Living Life to its fullest with God's directive.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

Completing my PhD in Agricultural Science and optaining a position as a State Leader of an Governmental Agricultural Agency.
