Major Michael L. Shaw is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is presently a senior instructor/writer for the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (CLC3) within the Army Logistics University located at Ft. Lee, Virginia. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of the Field Artillery from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from MVSU; Master of Arts in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University and a Demonstrated Master Logistician Certification from the Army Logistics University.

Major Shaw has served in Korea, United States, and Southwest Asia and includes tours with the 1st Infantry Division and 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command.

Major Shaw command tours include command of 151st Movement Control Team, 49th Transportation Battalion and command of Headquarters/Headquarters Battalion 49th Transportation Battalion, both at Fort Hood, Texas.

His staff assignments include: Director of Intelligence, 1-5 Field Artillery: Director of Highway Transportation for Iraq, 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and Director of Logistics, 1st Signal Brigade.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation, and Army Achievement Medal.

Major Shaw is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Career Course, Transportation Transition Course and Command and General Staff College (resident).
