Danielle Benson is a Columbus native and a 1998 graduate of Columbus Independence High School. After obtaining her Associates Degree from Columbus State Community College, she transferred to Kentucky State University. While attending KSU she was a member of the 2002 & 2003 back to back Eastern Conference Championship Volleyball team. Majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business she graduated with honors while caring for her young daughter Jalaina.

Currently Danielle is the owner and designer of Nontle Jewelry, which offers unique one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry. She is the
co-owner of 2 Girls Volleyball, which focuses on the development of young volleyball player and the head volleyball coach at Columbus International High School.

“I wouldn't trade my experience at KSU for any other school. I was able to get a quality education from professors that I felt cared about me as a person. I was able to meet new people that I now consider some of my closest friends. And as a bonus, I was able to continue to play the sport that I love. I would recommend Kentucky State University to anyone in search of a quality education, beautiful campus and a unique cultural experience."
