PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY 2012 – PRESENT

Assistant Vice President for Development
• Reorganized the Development Office for optimal efficiency; assigning major gift officers to colleges and major units and hiring six highly qualified employees to fill critical gaps
• Led a campaign that raised $8.3 million in major and annual gifts
• Implemented Banner Advancement 8.5 & upgraded to 8.5.1
• Operated a call center staffed by student employees that raised more than $300,000 in pledges
• Doubled Alumni participation to 5.2%
• Implemented a report writing application that provided for user written ad hoc reports and dashboard capability
• Increased alumni engagement by 20%
• Conducted educational sessions for Dean’s and Administrators relative to successful fundraising and collaborated with each to solicit and engage alumni
• Collaborated with Communications to formulate a marketing campaign for annual giving, utilizing all available media types
• Increased the endowment value by $1,000,000


NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE UNIVERSITY 2001 – 2012

8/01 – 1/12, Senior Director of Development Operations
• Completed the first ever alumni giving campaign that raised more than $1,000,000
• Wrote successful proposals resulting in more than $500,000
• Received the first gift-in-kind valued at $2,000,000
• Increased alumni participation from 8% to 16%
• Expanded the university’s call center (CampusCall) to successfully solicit contributions from alumni; increased from $60,000 to more than $400,000
• Collaborated with academic units to coordinate annual fundraising activities
• Directed the activities of several volunteer committees aimed at providing feedback and guidance to various aspects of the campaign.

• Served as Annual Giving Director, Associate Director of Annual Giving, Director of Stewardship, Assistant Director of Advancement Services, and Alumni Program Manager.
