Biographical Information
Devin J. Butler

Devin Butler is the son of Carol and Terry Butler of Richmond Heights, Ohio. He is a June 2007 graduate of Richmond Heights High School and is a graduate Cuyahoga Community College where he earned an Associates degree in journalism and mass communications. Devin earned his baccalaureate degree from Kent State University in Ohio where he majored in communications.

Currently Devin serves Cuyahoga Community College as a program coordinator in the Job Links Division of the college’s Workforce and Economic Development Division. In addition to program coordination, his responsibilities include graphics and communications development, student recruitment as well as internal and external program presentations for the Workforce Division.

Devin is a Baptized member of Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church and a member of the male chorus. He serves as a Board member of the scholarship foundation of the Cleveland Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He also performs with a Christian dance team called “Disguise Da Limit” and is a past member of the Richmond Heights Honors Concert Choir and the Ohio District VII Honors Choir, and was a starting member of the Richmond Heights football team varsity squad for four years.

Devin has been an athlete from an early age and has participated on baseball, soccer, wrestling, basketball and football teams. Upon his graduation from high school, Devin received the following awards: Outstanding Senior Athlete, Chagrin Valley Conference “Sportsmanship Award”, Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award, 2007 Congressional Recognition Award, President’s Award for Academic Achievement, 2007 Scholar / Athlete Award, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Academic Scholarship, and the Rhythm ‘N Motion Academic Scholarship.

His community service includes a variety of activities at church, service to the Richmond Heights Summer Day Camp, member of the Wildwood Chapter of the Young Marines, dance performance for the Richmond Heights Recreation Department, and vocal group performance at nursing homes.

Devin is an accomplished roller skater and has been roller skating since the age of four and has also had an interest in the martial arts.

His favorite scripture is Revelations 14:1, “And I looked, and lo, the lamb stood on Mount Zion and with Him a hundred and four thousand having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.” He carries this scriptural reference with him as he serves the students of Cuyahoga Community College and Northeast Ohio.
