Peggy Smith-McAlister is the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Rusk County in Henderson, Texas, a position she has held for nine years.
A former bank mortgage loan processor; Peggy attended Henderson High School and received her B.S. in Business Administration from Texas College in Tyler, Texas. Deeply committed to her community, a member of the Leadership Henderson Class of 2008 and the 2008 Rusk County Chamber of Commerce Louise Jacks Woman of the Year, also she received the Rusk County 2013 Female Dr. Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award. Peggy serves as a board member for several local non-profit agencies including Habitat for Humanity, Cultural Arts Social Club, Henderson Parks and Recreation Committee, the Community Development Corporation, and the Rusk County Lean Committee. As a supporter of the Henderson Independent School District, Peggy serves as President of the Henderson ISD Site-Based Decision Making Committee.

Professionally, Peggy is a member of the National Boys & Girls Club Professional Association and the Northeast Texas Professional Association. Within Boys & Girls Clubs of American, she has been recognized for outstanding service as well as best practices for a rural club. Her collaborations with a variety of local Rusk County organizations have led to innovative initiatives for her local club.

Peggy is also honored member of Stanford Who’s Who Black Book- Inclusion is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership or achievement in their Occupation, Industry or Profession
A lifetime resident of Rusk County, Peggy Smith-McAlister is married to Randy McAlister and has two sons, Kylon and Garrick. She is a member of Arlem Grove Baptist Church, where she serves as the Church secretary &
