Tyler has served as an higher education administrative educator, senior pastor of a church, and is currently the writer of the "Pastor's Corner" column which is published weekly in the New Journal and Guide newspaper based in Norfolk, VA. He's a former U.S. Marine who has presented as a U.S. citizen at the National Press Club and the U.S. Capitol Building both in Washington, D.C. His book entitled: "Three In One: The Life and Legacy of Gerald DeForest Tyler - The Educator, Preacher, and Writer" is currently at Xulon Press Christian Publishing Company in Maitland, FL and should be available for purchase sometime in August 2015. And I'm currently writing a book giving an account of my life's story entitled, "Gerald D. Tyler: Three In One" (The educator, the preacher, and the writer).
