Bonita Billingsley Harris is the Media and Community Relations Manager for Dominion Virginia and North Carolina Power. She also served on the Chesapeake School Board frin 2010 - 2014. Previously, she worked as the Communications Manager for the Norfolk Sheriff's Office.

Bonita started her career as a TV news reporter and anchor, earning many local, regional and national awards. She worked for WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Norfolk TV-48, Maryland Public Television, WJZ-TV in Baltimore, WFAA-TV in Dallas, KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO and WXIA-TV in Atlanta.

In Chesapeake, Harris has enjoyed her involvement with Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church aka “The Mount,” Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc – Chesapeake/Virginia Beach chapter, the NAACP, Great Bridge School PTAs and other community events. Her husband Elisha "Cadillac" Harris is the Head Football Coach at Indian River High School in Chesapeake. They have three daughters - a CPS graduate who is now a Virginia State Trooper and two current CPS students.

Harris is a magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College, in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a B.A. in Spanish. She received her Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Claim To Fame:
Earned a 2014 Head Over Heels award at Hampton University’s 36th annual Conference on the Black Family. The “Head Over Heels” luncheon paid tribute to five women for successfully balancing their communications careers and family values Elected to the Chesapeake School Board in 2010, serving until 2014. Runner up for “Woman of the Year” from the Woman's Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Chesapeake, November 2013 Won two awards with Dancing with the Chesapeake Sister Cities Stars, November 2013, to create global opportunities for the citizens of Chesapeake. November 2013 Featured in cover story of Dominion’s Connect Magazine 2012 for researching family roots through The Dominion Foundation’s “Unknown No Longer” partnership with the Virginia Historical Society.
