Shadé Yaa-Birago Adu is an international educator, motivational speaker, life coach and an avid world traveler determined to live a purposeful life by inspiring others to dream beyond their neighborhoods and to explore the world around them. Shadé completed her undergraduate degree from Morgan State University in History with a concentration in African American Studies. After graduating from Morgan, Ms. Adu was granted admission into a one year intensive Masters of Education program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In May 2011, Ms. Adu graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in with a Master of Science Degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. Upon graduation, Ms. Adu was recruited to teach in Kazakhstan at the Nazerbayeav Intellectual Schools.

For three years, Ms. Adu has lived in Kazakhstan and has been instrumental in assisting with minority recruitment, curriculum development, and teacher training. She has traveled throughout Kazakhstan and over two dozen countries conducting workshops, observing schools, and breaking stereotypes of African American women one passport stamp at a time.

Recently, Shadé was admitted into a Ph.D. program in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will begin this fall. Shade is also the recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship with up to ten years of academic funding. Shadé attributes her success to a network of mentors and spiritual favor. Shade believes that though hard work and perseverance dreams do come true.
