Q&A With Keisha Brewer

(interview me)

Location: Baltimore, MD United States

About   (request update)
Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, Roy Reese, the first African American to be accepted into Temple University in Philadelphia Maryland, and her mother, Kim Reese, a well developed project manager who has been her personal and professional role model throughout her entire life, Keisha was taught that "Life is the sum of your choices" at an early age. Her mother instilled this message in her by putting this on the wall of her bedroom to remind her that possibilities are endless if you are willing to work for them. When it was time for high school, these two leading people in Ms. Brewer's life sat with her day and night working on presentations and studying math equations to ensure that she was accepted into the high school of her dreams, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, as a Business Administration student. During her years at George Washington Carver, she was the Historian of a organization called Future Business Leaders of America, competing in the Business Plan competition at the States competition with her partner and placing 4th in the region. From high school, Ms. Brewer went on to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she continued to reflect the importance of leadership by joining the National Society of Leadership and Success and being a team leader. During her time in college, Ms. Brewer also worked as a student intern at the Daily Times Delmarva Media Group in Salisbury, Maryland where she was able to work as a reporter and published news writer. Graduating with her English degree and developing a passion for communications, Keisha Brewer is currently the youngest inventory specialist at the Sinclair Broadcast Group corporate hub. As an inventory specialist, Ms. Brewer exercises her communication skills by learning the quirks of each of her stations to ensure that their specific needs and goals for commercial air time are being met. But with a passion such as hers, this is not where she is stopping with the communication field. She plans to grow within this company to really use her passion and skill set to the best of her abilities.
