Venita A. Hawkins graduated from Kentucky State University in 1984 with a Bachelor�s degree in Business Administration. She earned a Master�s degree in Financial Management from Southeastern University in 1987. She is presently serving as the President of the Kentucky State University National Alumni Association. She is also involved in the following organizations: the National HBCU Alumni Association, LLC (Treasurer), Kentucky State University Foundation Board of Trustees, Toastmasters International, National Association of Parliamentarians, National Organization of College Parents, The Kentucky Society of Washington, Fairfax County Alternative Dispute Resolution Appeals Board, and the Fairfax County Facilitation Network. She has held several positions within her alumni association, including Vice President and Program Committee Chair (two terms), two terms as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair; and Permanent Alumni Scholarship Fund Treasurer. Additionally, she has served as Treasurer of the African American Adoptions, Inc., Program Coordinator for the HBCU Alumni White House Initiative Stakeholders� Group, Recording Secretary for her homeowner�s association executive board, Special Events Program Administrator for several non-profit benefits (managing over 250 volunteers), and Steering Committee Member for the Community Collaborative on the Disproportionality of Services offered to African American families. She is a life member of the Kentucky State University National Alumni Association (KSUNAA) and a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Hawkins currently works as a Fiscal Review Specialist in County Government, where she manages a budget of more than $25 million for the Solid Waste Management Program. She has over 28 years of experience as a Finance and Budget Professional and is well respected for her team leadership abilities and events planning skills. Her vision for KSUNAA is to continue leading the association into the next phase of growth/development, bolstering philanthropic giving, and increasing alumni participation.
