For 5 rewarding years, I ran a after-school/weekend Spanish immersion program for young children ages 5-11 in my community. Not only did I teach the Spanish language, but also other subject areas in Spanish - from Art to Music, to Math, to Geography and the kids loved it! The best part of the experience was seeing how they grew to love the culture and became fluent over the years! My claim to fame is that I made a difference in the lives of the next generation and gave them the gift of speaking another language that they can teach their families and friends!
