About   (request update)
Since I started kindergarten, I was always a very curious individual. I was always into my studies and earning acceptable grades. With being the youngest child, I've witnessed what my brother and sister have experienced and they always told me to do better. As time progressed, I started getting involved in extracurricular activities such as sports and the National Junior Honor Society. During my eighth grade year, I earned a full tuition scholarship to attend Regina High School, which is a parochial institution. Over the course of my four years there, I took honors and AP classes, and my GPA was always a 3.8 or above. I was a part of the track team, student council and the National Honor Society. During the summer I also served as a teaching assistant in the Wayne State University Math Corps Program. I gradated with a 3.8 GPA and received several awards such as the President's Award for Educational Excellence and the Michigan Competitive Award. In regards to my higher education, none of my family members had the opportunity to receive a college education. My brother started working after high school and my sister was killed by a drunk driver before she had the chance to think about going to college. With this being said, I was very determined to receive a college education and make my family proud. I applied to four schools inside of Michigan and one outside of the state, which was Howard University. As far as HBCUs go, I was absolutely sure that Howard was where I wanted to continue my additional four years of my education. It was the only HBCU I applied to and I possessed a positive mentality for my acceptance. Additionally, I wanted to further my education outside of Michigan in order to get a different experience and encounter more opportunities. Fortunately, I was accepted into Howard University. Currently, I am studying accounting and have completed my first year. After I graduate, I plan on pursuing my future career as a Certified Public Accountant.

Guestbook Comments
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
