(interview me)
Sajsha Dixon
VISTA Associate, Americorp

Location: Apopka, FL United States
Joined: Jan 10th, 2015
About   (request update)
Current Whereabouts:
God. Books. Tea. Poetry. Blog. Piano.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I plan to be the epitome of an icon. I want to educate my sons and daughters of the cultural preservation of the African aesthetic.
Education   (request update)
Florida A&M University class of 2016
Undergrad Major: Psychology
Claim To Fame:
Believe it or not, I would say my claim to fame is my voice. I am extremely soft-spoken and people are, strangely, attracted to that. I have been told on multiple occasions that I could make a very good radio personality or even be the "ultimate" story time teller to little children (go figure?) I find it interesting how people are drawn in by my voice, and kept in by my personality. I believe that it is very important that I have a welcoming personality that many people can relate to, because that way, anyone can find a friend in me.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moments were those hours of solidarity that I had with some of my best friends. I wasn't aware of how great a decision I would be making when I decided to choose to attend an HBCU. I have learned some of the greatest things about African history, I have met some of the world's most influential people (who you will definitely be hearing about very soon), and I've gained an unconditional love and respect for not only myself, but also for those of my color. Those of my neighborhoods. Those of my family. I'm all for the cultural preservation of the African aesthetic, and I can't wait to show the world what Florida A&M University has taught me.
High School: Olympia High School in Orlando, FL class of 2012

Activities & Accomplishments:
Member of school core counseling/mentoring group: Peer Member of Music National Honor Society
Best Memories:
My best high school memories were the ones that were spent as a peer counselor. My greatest joy had to be giving everyone else joy. It's a huge honor to be able to be a part of something greater at such a young age. To be in a classroom filled with the utmost love and support, and to actually know that I could share positivity to someone else who needed it, is one of the greatest things I've been a part of thus far.
Experience
I currently work with Americorp as VISTA Associate
I have 3 years of experience working in the Arts, Entertainment, and Media industry.
