Markeshia Luree Gorden was born in Starke, Florida via Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. She, her mother and brothers moved to Tallahassee, Florida when Markeshia was 4 years old. Since then she's been the child that always proclaimed that she's going to be a superstar. As she matriculated through her school years, she was actively involved in cheerleading and SGA. She has served as the Student Council President, Secretary, Cheer Captain and Competition Squad member. Markeshia always had that impulse to make others feel good, whether it be through a smile or entertainment, as well as the impulse to perform.

The magic continued when she entered her college days. She attended the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. There she joined Divas Dance Team, volunteered and served on her Sophomore Class Cabinet, modeled with FACES Modeling Troupe, and served on the Electoral Commission. During this time, Markeshia majored in Nursing. She made it all the way to her junior year, just to finally accept the realization that she didn't want to do that for the rest of her life. With the support of her mother, Markeshia changed her major to Theater. One of the best decisions shes ever made.

Markeshia gained a plethora of knowledge from the faculty and staff of the Essential Theater and graduated in 2010. Shortly, after graduattion, December 2011, she wrote, directed, and produced her first original stage play production. It was met with such great success, she was asked to perform it multiples times, including a performance at the Leon County Civic Center.

Gorden's plays include This Time For Real, UnHoly Matrimony, and Bitter, which will be debuting Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum @ 8:00pm.

Markeshia Luree Gorden is currently writing producing, and directing plays, offering acting workshops, and inspiring men and women around the world.
