Shots rang out constantly, brawls took place right in front of me, and break-ins by local crack fiends wasn’t knew to me. As a child I saw it all, but in the midst of the confusion I was always comforted by one brave woman, her name? Rashon Seldon, my mother, served as my guardian angel on earth. It was through her meticulous efforts I was introduced to my potential. As I recollect where I came from, and where my feet are planted now, I couldn’t imagine being here without the guidance and financial support of those who invested in my future.I’m just an inner-city girl from Oakland, CA, whose dream was bigger than making it out of her city’s killer corridor. My master plan, as one would say, was to be a leader in promoting awareness about global issues through televised broadcasts. That hasn’t changed. The eminent Gates Millennium Scholarship program afforded me the opportunity of studying abroad in 10 South American countries along with embarking on a five month journey throughout India. I was acquainted with a “struggle,” foreign to me. Never had I saw firsthand a child searching for food at a public dump. Imagine hearing a mother confiding in you her mentally challenged daughter had been sexually abused and you were powerless in coming to her aid.

After completing my matriculation at Clark Atlanta University, my purpose was revealed. I began focusing on not only molding my destiny, but the legacy I wish to leave. This world is bigger than me. I’m the voice of those who have been silenced or are afraid to speak. Join me on my global mission to unite and inform all nations!

In addition to traveling the world and covering international affairs, I've interviewed countless celebrities, having served as an entertainment writer for an urban lifestyle magazine. Currently I am producing a web series in conjunction with Issa Rae that focuses on providing a platform for rising talent.
